Large sections of the internet seemed to go offline following a technical glitch linked to Cloudflare.
People trying to access platforms like X (previously Twitter), ChatGPT, and the movie-review site Letterboxd were met with error notices suggesting Cloudflare issues were preventing the pages from loading.
Cloudflare serves as a major internet infrastructure provider responsible for key technologies that support most modern online activities.
Its services include systems that defend sites from cyberthreats and help them remain accessible even during traffic surges.

In a recent statement, the company noted that it is aware of a fault that may be affecting several clients and is currently looking into it.
They added that more updates would be shared once additional details emerge.
Even the outage-tracking service Down Detector encountered disruptions caused by the same technical issue.
However, when the site managed to load, it displayed a sharp rise in reported failures.
Those impacted received a notice stating that an “internal server error” had occurred within Cloudflare’s network.
The message also urged visitors to “try again in a few minutes.”
